Below is an example of what a typical day in the Nursery might involve.

08.50am

Registration

The Nursery day begins at 8.50am and finishes at 3.15pm.  From 8.30am teachers are available to meet with parents informally to discuss your child’s progress.


09.15am – 10.00am

Teacher directed activity time

Throughout the week each class has a number of lessons which are adult led.  This is a time when the teacher prepares a specific literacy, communication, topic or mathematical activity to support the pupil’s general learning.


10.00am – 10.50am

Milk / Fruit / story-time / play-time


10.50am – 11.45am

Teacher-directed activity time

As above.  In addition, each class has a number of lessons led by specialists. These include Dance, French, Music, P.E and Library.


11.50am – 12.20pm

Lunch time

A hot lunch is provided.


12.45pm

Afternoon registration


12.45pm – 13.35pm

Circle time

This is an opportunity for the Nursery to enjoy a session with another class to explore storytelling, French and Music sessions.


1.35pm – 2.15pm

Child initiated activity time

The afternoon session in Nursery is less structured, with a focus on child-initiated play in our indoor and outdoor areas.


2.15pm – 2.45pm

Art / Craft /  Project time


2.45pm – 3.00pm

Fruit Time


3.00pm – 3.15 pm

Story / Song-time


3.15pm

Going-home-time
