About Gatehouse School

Gatehouse School is an independent, co-educational preparatory school for children aged 3 to 11, situated in the heart of East London, beside Victoria Park and Regent’s Canal.

Set within a beautifully renovated Victorian building with modern extensions, our school combines historic character with contemporary learning spaces. Our landscaped grounds, outdoor play areas and all-weather sports court provide children with opportunities to learn, play and explore beyond the classroom.

Our dedicated teaching staff provide a stimulating education that combines strong academic foundations with opportunities in sport, music, drama, creativity and personal development.

From Year 3 onwards, pupils benefit from specialist subject teaching alongside the consistent pastoral support of their own dedicated Form Teacher. This approach allows children to develop subject knowledge and independence while ensuring they are known, understood and supported throughout their school journey.

Gatehouse is a member of the Independent Schools’ Association (ISA) and the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS), both of which are represented by the Independent Schools Council (ISC).
