Black History Month Assembly

Children in Year 1 upwards enjoyed an assembly on Thursday morning, led by Mr Gorry, to celebrate Black History Month and this year’s theme of immigration.

Mr Gorry showed the children a slide of the above quote from a famous lady called Rosa Parks.

Rosa Louise McCauley Parks was an American activist in the civil rights movement best known for her pivotal role in the Montgomery bus boycott. The United States Congress has called her “the first lady of civil rights” and “the mother of the freedom movement”.
