When children move from Lower to Upper Juniors, housed in the main school building, they are taught according to subject by our specialist staff.
Your child will begin and end each day with their form teacher, who also eats lunch with them and covers pastoral topics such as PSHE or current affairs. Children then move from class to class throughout the day, according to a varied timetable.
Alongside the core subjects this incorporates science, the humanities, RE, music, art and DT, PE, French and ICT, all taught in our specially equipped teaching rooms. In addition, children have a weekly library slot in their own Upper Junior library.
The amount of time they are expected to spend on their homework each night increases as they progress through the Upper Juniors. In order to keep track of their daily homework, they are each given a weekly homework planner which they take with them to every lesson and which can be checked each evening.
