On Wednesday 5th July the Year 6’s were able to present a science fair to the rest of the school. The children worked incredibly hard on their group projects. They showed they were true scientists and were able to teach the younger members of our school new things! They showed an impressive knowledge of “How the World Works”, and the feedback from both the children and teachers has been extremely positive. Well done Year 6!
The last optional science project of the year was a complete success. We had a range of entries that included models, videos, games and some very detailed reports.
The rest of the school enjoyed looking at them. The standard has been set very high for next year.

Well done everyone who participated in the optional science competition. Yet again the standard was extremely high. All year groups were invited to the lunchtime exhibition. Both the children and adults were amazed at the detailed work.
Year 3 had great fun exploring different fossils in science. They were then able to create their own models from clay.
As usual the children surpassed my expectations with their entries to the optional Autumn 1 Science competition. There were films, models, power points, scrap books and posters galore! We held an exhibition of the children’s work during a lunch time and both fellow students and teachers were impressed with the quality of the work. Well done everyone!
On Wednesday 5th October, 6F took parent in a evolution workshop at the Natural History Museum. They looked at how our diverse animal and plant kingdoms reflect a changing world.
On Monday 19th September, Year 3 visited The Centre of the Cell to take part in a Teethtastic show. We really enjoyed learning more about the structure of the teeth and how to take care of our teeth.
We had a fun time participating in the games and demonstrations!
Years 3 and 4 have thinking about healthy breakfasts for Food Revolution Day last week. We were able to taste test 5 different recipes!
Year 3 have been creating there own shadow puppet stories to perform to RB and each other!
Year 5 participated in an exciting Space Workshop with Dr Gareth Francis, a real life astrophysicist .
Year 4 visited the Soanes Centre to explore habitats. They found and classified animals from woodland, meadow and pond habitats.
On Thursday 17th March, ten children from Year 5 were invited to attend the Bancroft’s Science Fair. They enjoyed working with the Sixth Form students on experiments that showed Biology, Chemistry and Physics in action.
Meanwhile, Year 3 have been investigating different rocks.

Year 6 have been revising evaporation and condensing. They observed the results of an experiment in class.
Year 5 have been very busy preparing for there Healthy Living Roadshow! 5G did a great job sharing their ideas with teachers and parents.
Year 3 have been looking at human teeth and looking at their different shapes and uses.
Year 6 have been using the tablets to help them with their scientific research.
