Educational trips and visits
These are a vital part of the Lower Junior curriculum and vary each year according to our ever-changing curriculum – please refer to the News section and calendar for updated information and forthcoming trips. Recent trips have included Year 2 visiting Hampton Court Palace and Year 1 enjoying a concert at the Barbican. For photos of recent trips please go to the relevant form section of the Parents’ Area.
There are a number of visits that are repeated annually in the Lower Juniors:
Kenwood House Autumn Ramble
For more information about this annual event please look in the School Life section.
Hackney Empire Christmas Pantomime
In the run-up towards Christmas each Lower Junior class is taken on the school buses to watch the annual pantomime at Hackney Empire before returning back to school in time for regular pick-up.
Lower Junior Nativity
All the children are involved in the Lower Junior Nativity in December.
Easter Term Play
Year 1 and 2 children put on a drama production in the school hall for the whole school community to enjoy in the run up to Easter each year.
The Lower Juniors take part in the annual House swimming gala in May at York Hall.
The Lower Junior Sports Day takes place towards the end of the summer term in Victoria Park.
Throughout the year there are a number of theatrical and literary events. Local organisations the school has built up a regular relationship with include Blunderbuss Theatre group and Victoria Park Books through whom we enjoy author events and visits.
