MUSIC

Music is fostered in all parts of the school.  All children have singing lessons and class music lessons where they play percussion instruments and keyboards, and compose short pieces of music.  They also listen to, and learn to appreciate, different types of music.  All children learn recorders from Year 3. Public exams are taken in a variety of musical instruments including violin, piano, cello and flute. The children sit music exams when they are ready. The choir, orchestra and string group perform regularly at assemblies and also at various other times during the year. Children regularly attend the LSO and LPO concerts and we try to have regular composition sessions with musicians. Concerts are held each term.
